Gregory Alan Strand, 64, passed away in his home unexpectedly Saturday, July 2, 2011.
Greg was born Oct. 5, 1946, in Duluth, and was a graduate of Denfeld High School. After graduation Greg enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he worked on aircraft. Greg married Mary Beth on March 11, 1972. He was employed 33 years for the DMIR Railroad as a sheet metal worker/tinner.
Greg was involved with the Moose for a number of years. Greg also enjoyed spending his time outdoors, hunting, four wheeling, especially spending time with twin brother Gary, family, and friends. He really loved spending time with his grandchildren as well. Greg was the social butterfly of the neighborhood, laughing, conversing, and helping his family and friends.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Norman “Bud” and Eileen Strand.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mary Beth; daughter Alicia (Jason) Sebok; son Ken (Ali Nelson) Strand; three grandchildren, Sorin, Talen Sebok, and Brayden Strand and soon to be grandson, Lawson Strand; twin brother Gary (Peggy) Strand; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunts.
