Jane (Elowson) Hall, 62, Two Harbors, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009 at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth, with her husband and daughter at her side.
She was born March 5, 1947 to Arthur and Elvera (Lindberg) Elowson in Duluth, where she grew up and attended schools, graduating from Denfeld High School in 1965.
After graduating from UMD with a degree in elementary education she worked as a teacher in Cedar and St Francis for five years. Jane moved to Brimson in 1974 and to Two Harbors in 1980, and was employed as an elementary paraprofessional for Lake Superior School District for 27 years. Jane married Ronald Hall on July 4, 1970 and their marriage was later blessed with a daughter, Ronda.
Jane was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and its choir, and Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority. She was active in the AFS program, the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, and was a founder of the Neighbor to Neighbor Store in Two Harbors. She had a passion for children and was a proud grandma.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James Elowson.
She is survived by her husband, Ron; a daughter, Ronda (Andrew) Bernard; grandchildren, Mathias, Emily and Molly Bernard; AFS daughters, Fujiko (Oka) Cunliffe, Eeva Korolainen, and Michelle (Harris) Boswell; two nieces, Erika and Nicole; great-nephews, three aunts, and many cousins.
