Johnson (Cannon), Cheryl Ann.  Born 7/21/47.  Died 1/25/20.
 
Cheryl Cannon, 72, of Duluth, passed away at Solvay Hospice House, surrounded by her family after a long, hard-fought battle against cancer.

Cheryl was born Duluth, MN, to John and Margaret (Vangen) Johnson. She grew up on 59th Ave West in Duluth, MN, and graduated from Denfeld High School in 1965. On August 31, 1968, she married Victor Cannon Jr.

She loved raising her children, spoiling her grandkids, spending time with family and friends, watching Young and the Restless, and shopping for the perfect outfit. Cheryl had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. She worked various jobs during her working career, retiring from Customer Link in 2014.

Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret Johnson; her son, Darin Cannon; and her brother-in-law, Herman Swanson.

She will be sadly missed by her husband of 51 years, Victor Cannon Jr; her daughter, Cristen (Scott) Christensen; her sister, Marsha Swanson; her grandchildren, Ty and Brynn Christensen; and several nieces, nephews, friends and family members whom she loved dearly.

Services will be held on Friday, January 31st, at Elim Lutheran Church,6101

Cody St., Duluth. Visitation will begin at 11 am followed by a memorial service at noon.

A special thanks to all the nurses in the Essentia Oncology department, Tom Warden, Dr. Nikcevich, and the staff at Solvay Hospice House.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Darin Cannon Memorial Scholarship (DCMS), 254 Riverwood Drive, Duluth, MN 55810, to support the scholarship for Darin at Denfeld High School.
